This role leads the Southeast transportation planning practice and collaborates with regional teams to support growth and development of multimodal transportation planning services. Responsibilities
Manage a group consisting of transportation planners, engineers, and related professionals, in close coordination with Transportation Leadership. Coordinate, mentor, and develop regional transportation planning staff and produce quality deliverables to meet client needs and market drivers. Serve as a key member of the Transportation Planning Business Class and manage staff, business development, pursuit, and major transportation planning projects. Engage in high-profile project pursuits involving extensive client interactions in coordination with Area Business Development Leaders. Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of large multi-disciplinary transportation planning projects including long-range visioning, strategic and tactical planning, policy and systems planning, data analytics and modeling, multimodal planning, and project development. Project types include program management contracts, long-range transportation plans, master plans, corridor studies, transit projects, freight plans, rail plans, intermodal/multimodal studies, traffic operational studies, and emerging mobility plans. Lead scope development and execution with appropriate technical professionals across multiple transportation disciplines. Drive open communication of current and projected production needs and collaborate with management to influence staffing and expertise levels. Coordinate project staffing and workload management of the regional transportation planning group. Participate in and provide input to the Annual Budgeting and Strategic Planning process in collaboration with Area, Regional, National, and Global leadership. Perform other duties as needed. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a professional field (Planning, Architecture, Engineering or closely related) 10 years of experience in a related field Maintains professional or Engineering registration and related technical experience Experience in development and management of diverse teams Collaborative experience with other regional directors, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers on business-class efforts Commitment to quality, HDR values, and active participation in our employee-owned culture Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Planning, Engineering, or related discipline Professional registrations such as AICP, PE, PTOE, PTP, PMP preferred What We Believe
