The
Deputy Project Leader – MEP Construction
supports the strategy, execution, and delivery of complex projects in sectors like Modular Mission Critical, Government, Industrial, and Commercial Buildings. The role emphasizes completing projects on time, within budget, and to high standards, while fostering team leadership and development. Core Market Sector: This position is within the Critical Infrastructure Solutions (CIS) Business Unit. Candidates should have expertise in modular delivery and MEP systems, with experience in vertical construction markets or prime/general contracting industries. Responsibilities Assist Senior Project Managers with schedules, budgets, and resources for modular projects. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders for efficient project execution. Oversee MEP installations, including coordination and shop drawings. Gain experience with modular building processes such as fabrication, transportation, and installation. Lead project kickoff meetings and guide project teams. Conduct site surveys, cost studies, and forecast budgets accurately. Identify opportunities for cost savings, quality improvements, and best practices. Maintain communication with project teams and update on progress. Build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Collaborate on estimates using software like Accubid. Ensure timely completion of punch lists, as-built drawings, and training materials. Manage permitting, licensing, and inspections to meet deadlines. Qualifications Bachelor's in Construction Management or Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical preferred) with 5+ years of MEP or modular construction experience, or a Master's with 3+ years of relevant experience. Deep knowledge of construction management and terminology. Familiarity with MEP systems and modular building throughout project phases. Experience in federal, government, commercial, or mission-critical sectors with budgets from $2M to over $30M. Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project. Skilled in Bluebeam, Accubid, Microsoft Office, and Excel. Skills & Abilities: Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Adaptability to diverse teams and fast-paced environments. Proficiency with project management software and tools. Preferred Qualifications: PMP Certification. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification. Abilities: Ability to work with extended computer screen time. Sitting for long periods. Reaching with hands or arms. Finger dexterity for manipulating objects like keyboards. Effective listening and understanding spoken information. Clear verbal communication. Reading and comprehending written information. Applying rules to solve specific problems. Understanding others' speech.
