Job Title
Materials Planner
Job Purpose The Materials Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring the movement of material through the production cycle. The Planner determines material requirements from engineering and production schedules, coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production, and engineering, and develops specifications for new contract orders.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage demand intake and contribute to the creation of the end item supply plan in the MRP.
Analyze demand requirements versus supply commitments and opportunities.
Conduct what-if analyses for all demand changes prior to agreements with customers.
Execute MRP run for changed demand and end item supply requirements.
Work with Master Production Scheduling to ensure closed loop feedback process for potential supply risks.
Work with Purchasing to confirm material availability for demand requests requiring expedited or lead-time orders.
Work with Account Management and Supply Chain Management for agreement of order quantities, buffer inventories, and rules.
Review the plan with Master Production Scheduling weekly to understand changes, review capacity loads, and assess material plans and risks.
Education and Experience High School Diploma; 2 years experience.
