Overview
The Spray booth & Paint Mix Facility Specialist will: Develop scopes of work and construction bid packages that directs contractors, engineers, and designers in development of paint spray booth facility and paint circulation systems. Drive spray booth and paint circulation engineering and design that reduce CapX and plant operating costs. Consult with plant maintenance staff to solve difficult mechanical system problems using structured problem solving and engineering principles. Manage engineering and construction efforts, documenting all issues, action plans and agreements in writing using Stellantis action register documentation. Develop, manage and implement construction schedules and budgets that meet program launch timing and financials Manage the bulletin and field order process, documenting scope and changes throughout the construction process. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline or high school diploma / GED and 5 years' experience in spray booths & mix Room commissioning Understand and apply fluid mechanics and engineering principles to paint circulation systems that meet production throughput requirements Understand and apply characteristics of air (psychometrics, temperature and pressure relationships) to spray booth systems that meet automotive paint finish temperature and humidity requirements Understand and apply pump and fan engineering and selection to ensure paint shops launch with equipment that will perform as expected Preferred Qualifications
The ability to develop and launch air supply and recirculation equipment that reduces capital investment and plant operating costs Knowledge of dry compressed air systems that meet specific paint shop automation dew point, hydrocarbon and foreign material quality standards Experience with technical specification development and the construction bid process and commissioning of equipment Apply sludge system water treatment and engineering principles that separates, floats and consolidates paint waste Experience with closed loop water treatment, skid & booth grating cleaning systems, paint shop ventilation and cascade air system SMACNA, MERV, EN779 and ISO 16890 filter standards to paint shop spray booth HVAC systems, meeting process dirt/contamination limits NFPA 30 standard to paint mix rooms, circulation systems and paint spray booths IMC - International Mechanical code SMACNA national sheet metal standards Benefits
