Overview The Program Assistant assists in providing our clients with a safe environment so they can begin addressing aspects of their lives in a peaceful setting. The Program Assistant is a frontline worker responsible for maintaining the safety, integrity, and security of the Recovery Housing Program. The Program Assistant documents all daily activities and carries out administrative functions to support the program and its overall operations. Note:
This role is not set to begin until June 2025. Duties And Responsibilities Perform duties according to policy, procedure, and care philosophy Monitor entries and exits to the building Document incidents and activities during shifts Maintain a safe, inclusive, and non-discriminatory environment for clients Uphold professional and ethical boundaries with clients Be punctual, flexible, and reliable Answer phones, take messages, and direct calls Facilitate medication observation as per policy Support searches for contraband in the residence Ensure clients are appropriately dressed, identifiable, and in permitted areas Enforce house rules and distribute mail Conduct security and wellness checks regularly Assist with substance use screenings, including urine and breath tests Follow privacy protocols for clients and samples Participate in emergency responses and drills Respond to incidents and assist other departments as needed Support client admissions and discharges Maintain structured priorities amid changing project scope Sanitize high-touch surfaces to ensure safety Bilingual in Spanish? Communicate with Spanish-speaking clients; bilingual premium applies. Other duties as assigned Education and Experience Experience working with substance abuse, mental health, or related issues High school diploma or equivalent CA Driver's License (preferred) Bilingual in Spanish (preferred) First Aid and CPR certification (required within first week) Tuberculosis clearance (required within first two weeks) Skills and Abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office and office equipment Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially Excellent organization and multitasking skills Culturally competent and able to work with diverse populations Knowledge of co-occurring disorders and trauma-informed care Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Equipment Used Office equipment and relevant software ADA Statement Qualified individuals can perform essential duties with or without accommodations.
