Responsibilities

Examines damaged vehicle to determine extent of structural, body, mechanical, or interior damage.

Estimates cost of labor and parts to repair or replace each damaged item.

Reviews repair cost estimates with body shop manager or foreman.

Contacts customers upon receipt of parts and schedules work in a timely and efficient manner.

Gives accurate promised times and notifies customers immediately of any changes or delays.

Performs a quality control check and inspects each vehicle after repairs are completed.

Completes and closes all repair orders and files repair orders and related documents.

Verifies insurance payment, rental authorization, and balance due prior to release of vehicles.

Meets with the body shop manager daily to keep him/her informed of job status and any deviations that may have occurred.

In the event of a disagreement with manager or foreman on repair cost, arranges to have damage appraised by another appraiser to resolve the situation.

Determines feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts, such as bumpers, fenders, and doors.

Evaluates practicality of repair as opposed to payment of vehicle market value before accident.

Determines salvage value on total vehicle loss.

Prepares insurance forms to indicate repair cost estimates and recommendations.

Estimates cost of repainting, converting to special purposes, or customizing undamaged vehicles.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Damage Analysis and Estimating Certification for Collision Repair.

Mechanical and Electrical Components Certification for Collision Repair.

Non-Structural Analysis and Damage Repair Certification for Collision Repair.

Painting and Refinishing Certification for Collision Repair.

Structural Analysis and Damage Repair Certification for Collision Repair.

Willing to submit to a background check and drug screen prior to employment.

Valid driver's license and clean driving record that is acceptable to our policies.
