Responsibilities
Maintains inventory of repair parts, supplies and technical manuals.
Orders repair parts and/or components and supplies as required.
Performs incoming inspections on new, trial and demonstration equipment before they are placed into patient service.
Oversees incoming and outgoing equipment for repair and maintains equipment log.
Performs preventive maintenance inspection procedures to optimize performance, reliability, and projected life expectancy of medical center instrumentation.
Documents and refers nonconforming items to the Bio‑Medical Engineering Laboratory for repair.
Executes pick‑ups and delivers instrumentation to various hospital units for service and/or preventive maintenance, or supplies and equipment from local vendors as directed.
Performs minor repairs on defective instrumentation under the direction of the senior technologist. Conducts and documents performance tests to ensure equipment functions properly before returning to patient service.
Lifts a minimum of 50 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 50 lbs. and stands a minimum of 6.0 hours a day.
Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Adheres to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications Required
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
A minimum of 2 years experience working in healthcare with familiarity of medical devices.
Basic understanding of device operations and ability to communicate about them.
Ability to provide basic support of acuity equipment for direct patient care.
Familiarity with the operations and environment supported (hospital, clinic, etc.).
Minimal experience in their assigned clinical environment.
Preferred
Some college education in a technical field.
3–5 years technical/scientific experience.
Valid State Driver’s License.
Compensation and Benefits The starting hourly rate is $34.65 and may vary based on market data, experience, education, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and budget. Eligible positions may receive performance-based incentives, bonuses commissions, and may qualify for shift differentials. In addition to full‑time and part‑time positions, HMH offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
