Biomedical Asset and Inventory Specialist
Overview Under limited direction, responsible for administering and maintaining the OU Health Teletracking Real Time Location System (RTLS), training end-users, inventory control for durable medical equipment, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to reduce equipment rental costs, enable disposal of excess/defective assets, and assist with equipment inventory projects. Monitor RTLS device battery condition and schedule replacements as necessary.
Responsibilities
Manage RTLS application and usage of system and devices
Collaborate with multi-faceted teams on renovation and expansion construction projects that may include RTLS
Create and implement training programs for end-users on the RTLS system
Assist with the creation of reports using data from the RTLS system
Add and delete inventory items in the RTLS system; create groups for managed devices as needed
Work with Biomed team on preventive maintenance completion percentages via the RTLS system
Lead others regarding policies, procedures, hospital protocol, and required documentation
Establish proactive daily status updates with customers to ensure resolution and follow-up
Implement facility business goals/objectives and manage key performance indicators (KPIs)
Represent customer departments and the system at large; attend meetings to facilitate expansion and support of new equipment, systems, or integrations while optimizing resources
Manage RTLS vendor service delivery, system expansions/contractions, and battery life
Assist Biomed department staff to meet regulatory requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, State DoH, OSHA, FDA, CAP)
Complete all planned Quality and Compliance training within defined deadlines
Identify and report customer quality or compliance concerns to the Quality Organization
Ensure work orders, vendor service reports, time/expense reports, PM activities, and other duties are documented accurately and timely
Focus on efficiency and adoption or creation of standard work practices (LEAN)

Qualifications
Education:
Associate’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree in a technical or medical field preferred.
Experience:
2+ years of work experience; 4+ years in inventory management or logistics preferred.
Licenses/Certification/Registration:
N/A
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Advanced experience interpreting construction documents
Ability to perform labor required for battery replacement
Experience in a hospital setting
Familiarity with TJC Elements of Performance and mandatory compliance requirements
LEAN and/or Six Sigma experience preferred
Multitasking, strategizing, and prioritizing abilities
Ability to analyze metrics and reports
Creative problem-solving and solution implementation
Experience coaching, mentoring, and leading others
Effective communication with teammates and colleagues
Proficiency with electronic documentation and common tools (e.g., iPad, iPhone, Microsoft Office)
Ability to build and maintain good customer relations across levels
Strong communication skills to explain technical issues clearly
Project management experience
