Manager of Lean Manufacturing — Reporting to the Sr. Director of Operations Excellence, this position will be responsible for managing the teams driving continuous improvement, capacity improvements, and problem solving. This position holder will lead a team of engineers and operations professionals to coach and develop for improvement throughout operations leveraging lean manufacturing techniques similar to the Toyota Production System. Responsibilities

Lead and manage lean manufacturing development initiatives across the organization. Develop and implement strategies to improve production efficiency and reduce waste through problem solving. Develop leadership and teams to better understand problems and solve them leveraging principles aligned with TPS principles, building respect for individuals and driving results. Lead the development of an operational workforce planning system. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement projects. Train and mentor staff on lean manufacturing principles and practices. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to lean initiatives. Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Hire, train and mentor engineers and support staff to work to their full potential. Maintain department quality and performance metrics. Write performance reviews and solve departmental issues. Review and write reports, approve expenditures, develop and enforce standard practices. Recommend, plan and direct coaching and development of leaders and problem-solving techniques. Key Lean Performance Components

Standardization: Develop and maintain standardized work procedures to ensure consistency and quality Takt Time: Balance production rates with customer demand to optimize efficiency and minimize over production Just-in-Time (JIT): Implement JIT principles to ensure materials and products are produced only as needed, reducing inventory costs and waste Jidoka: Promote automation with a human touch, ensuring machines and operators can detect and address issues immediately Kaizen: Drive continuous improvement through small, incremental changes that enhance processes and reduce waste Kanban: Utilize Kanban systems to manage workflow and inventory, ensuring smooth and efficient production Qualifications

We Are Looking For Someone With

A Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or related Engineering field 10+ years total experience, 5+ years management experience Proven experience in leading lean initiatives and driving significant improvements using TPS principles Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, tools, and techniques Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Experience with leadership development, standardized work development, problem solving, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement methodologies Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics Ideally You Will Have

Low volume, highly engineered product mix experience, knowledge of lean practices Experience working in the electrical manufacturing industry Previous roles at companies leveraging a mature lean manufacturing approach Physical Demands / Working Conditions

General Office Environment, PC use Light Lifting (occasional 25 lbs or less) Stooping Standing What We Offer

Typical pay is $111,828 – 148,113 annually. Pay is based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications.
