2:30pm-11:00pm (Monday-Friday) Interstate Power Systems is looking for a Second Shift Diesel Shop Foreman Mechanic/Technician for our Omaha Nebraska location. We are offering highly competitive wages! Responsibilities
Lead our service team and oversee all aspects of diesel repair and maintenance operations, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality workmanship, and adherence to safety protocols. Perform test drives to verify customer concerns are resolved. Perform quality inspections on completed truck/equipment. Open and close repair orders. Perform minor repairs and DOT inspections as needed. Assist technician/mechanic(s) as needed with repairs, lending a hand or guidance as needed. Positively teach, train and mentor technician/mechanic(s). Assist Service office in ensuring everyone is on a job and the next assignment is ready. Update customers and seek approvals as needed. Update software programs such as Uptime Pro with updated information. Perform general shop duties, order and put shop supplies away as needed. Delegate duties to technician/mechanic(s) when there are no customer repairs to complete. Learn Service Advisor role for times when shorthanded in office. Be willing to work a rotational on-call schedule. Qualifications
High School Diploma or G.E.D. Experience working with diesel engines and heavy-duty trucks. Must have your own set of general tools. Strong knowledge of computers for diagnosis and repair order systems. Technical degree or certification is a plus. Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions. Diesel engine certification for overhaul and diagnostics is a must. CDL preferred but not required. Employee Benefits
