We are seeking a full-time Subcontractor Quality Representative (SQR) who will report directly to the Project Quality Assurance Manager (PQAM) and support the field-related quality process concerns. The SQR supports the QA team by performing direct observations and oversight of subcontractors’ implementation of their NQA-1 quality assurance program, plans, and procedures to ensure effective implementation and compliance. This includes overseeing quality during procurement, manufacturing, and construction phases for systems, structures, and components (SSCs). The SQR collaborates with internal departments and subcontractors to address quality issues, improve processes, and ensure subcontractor compliance.

The SQR oversees subcontractor quality interfaces and performance, reporting issues to management. The role involves interaction with subcontractors, engineering, procurement, auditors, and inspection agencies to support the Spent Fuel Handling Recapitalization Project (SFHP) in Scoville, Idaho. The candidate must be onsite, with responsibilities including reducing quality issues, identifying risks, and leading quality assurance initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Develop strategies for oversight activities to ensure subcontractor compliance.

Perform and document direct observations of quality-related activities.

Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, making recommendations based on data.

Maintain independence to effectively oversee subcontractor quality processes.

Generate oversight reports and metrics on subcontractor performance.

Facilitate interfaces with internal and external stakeholders on quality matters.

Review subcontractor documentation for compliance.

Perform record reviews to support project turnover.

Audit quality documentation for completeness and compliance.

Assess subcontractor quality systems and performance.

Review observations, non-conformities, and support troubleshooting.

Identify trends and evaluate corrective actions.

Promote safety culture and integrate quality into processes.

Qualifications include a BS in relevant field with 5 years of experience or 10 years in nuclear quality, knowledge of nuclear codes and standards, certification as a Nuclear Lead Auditor (or ability to obtain), strong communication skills, and U.S. citizenship.

Physical Requirements: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, climbing, lifting up to 40 lbs, and working in field conditions with exposure to dust, noise, temperature extremes, and heights.

Additional Details: Position is full-time, mid-senior level, in the defense and space manufacturing industry, based in Idaho Falls, ID. The role involves on-site work and occasional travel.
