Summary: This is a full-time role for a Business Development Manager at Blum Construction. The role involves tasks such as new business development, lead generation, communication with clients, account management, and collaborating with the team. Qualifications: High School diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Experience in Business Development, Construction, Design, or Commercial Real Estate field with proven success and increasing responsibility desired. Strong Business acumen, superior communication, excellent negotiation, and presentation skills, with a strong ability to influence decisions of team members, partners, and customers. In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and the project delivery techniques preferred. Strong Understanding of regional construction market preferred. New business development and lead generation skills preferred. Experience in account management preferred. Ability to foster client relationships. Proven track record of meeting sales targets preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Reporting: This role will report directly to the Regional Vice President. Responsibilities: Work in conjunction with the Marketing team to co-develop a regional marketing strategy. Identify appropriate industry organizations in which Blum should participate and sponsor. Attend local events for cultivation and engagement. Support existing and future business opportunities with current clients. Be a customer advocate; solicit, receive, and act upon customer feedback. Proactively work with regional management and marketing department staff to prepare proposal submissions and support interview presentations. Includes leading project and marketing teams in the development of proposals and interviews. Research and provide necessary content for proposals and interviews. Follow up with clients after proposals and presentations to determine if there are unanswered questions or additional insights. Conduct, document, and track postmortem reasons for wins or losses. Conduct competitor S.W.O.T. analysis, identify target customers, and key trade partners. Report on progress towards business development revenue goals. Input and regularly update Customer Relationship Management software. Prepare for and lead a weekly business development strategy meeting for all team members to help drive strategy and action towards the regional business development goals. Identify “Targeted” project opportunities and develop a strategy to position Blum to be successful in securing the projects. Network with consultants and community leaders to enhance awareness of Blum in the regional market.
