Position Summary Reeves Construction Company is currently seeking a Bridge Foreman based in Union, SC. The successful candidate will possess an uncompromising focus on safety excellence and will lead a crew of carpenters, finishers, and laborers on bridge and heavy civil projects.

Primary Work Function A skilled craftsman who can manage a crew consisting of foremen, carpenters, finishers, and laborers, and safely perform construction tasks.

Responsibilities

Basic carpentry related to building and bracing of wooden forms and falsework.

Drive piles – positioning piles in leads, climbing ladders up to 60 feet.

Steel and concrete girder erection – assemble and guide girders into final position, including supported handling.

Explain steps clearly, give instructions, answer questions, and organize subordinates.

Train subordinates on tasks being performed.

Supervise others safely within company policies.

Perform timesheets, quantity calculations, and reading of grade and planes.

Identify potential schedule conflicts, problems, and communicate with Supervisor.

Read blueprints and assist Supervisor with work‑plan formulation.

Successfully train a replacement and supervise crew to inspect, handle conflict, and follow directions.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

Read plans and perform simple layout with minimal supervision.

Plan and schedule own work and crews on a daily/weekly basis.

Perform multiple technical skills – proficient in steel erection, form/construct overhangs, substructure concrete, and pile driving.

Understand basics of cost control, equipment operations, and project requirements.

Manage a crew of 5‑6 employees with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5+ years in bridge/heavy highway construction in Lead/Lead Carpenter/Foreman role.

Demonstrated leadership capabilities; experience managing crews and subcontractors (preferred).

Excellent communication with crew, project management, subcontractors, and vendors.

Ability to read and understand work plans.

Strong work ethic and desire to learn.

Minimum age 18.

Physical Demands Must use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or walk; stand and walk regularly; occasional sit; lift and manipulate objects up to 80 lbs for 50 feet; able to work off the ground and at elevated heights; 20/40 vision or corrected; hearing excellent or corrected.

Work Environment Exposure to moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather, vibration, fumes, airborne particles, wet or humid conditions, high precarious places, chemicals, and loud noise.
