The Data Center Technician III assists in the operational integrity, security, and regulatory compliance of the data center. This role requires strong knowledge of telecommunications, mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems, as well as data center operating procedures. We are currently hiring for the Swing Shift: 3:00pm - 11:30pm, Tuesday-Saturday. Responsibilities
Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in facilities systems: Electrical, Mechanical, Communications, Building Monitoring and Control. Track and trend operational characteristics; provide feedback to management. Work with contractors and consultants for system expansions, corrections, and upgrades. Complete aggressive preventive and predictive maintenance schedule. Maintain high operational efficiency by analyzing conditions and recommending improvements. Manage systems to avoid unplanned, customer-impacting outages. Navigate and utilize a CMMS system. Provide exceptional customer service and support. Conduct regular facility and security tours and document findings. Assist with database management of maintenance discrepancies. Coordinate power installations, upgrades, and cable terminations. Assist in asset and consumable inventory management and labeling. Escalate incidents, respond, and document follow-up reports. Manage building service requests and work orders in a timely manner. Maintain technical documentation and procedures. Adhere to CoreSite's principles of operational excellence. Apply mechanical and integrated control expertise for entire data center. Duties
Complete CoreSite's Data Center Operations Qualification Program to the tier level within 9 months. Coordinate and oversee mechanical, electrical, fire life safety, and telecom responsibilities (listed above). Perform and complete work orders and customer service tickets promptly. Provide applied mechanical and integrated control expertise. Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 2 years installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting large commercial and industrial systems (Chilled Water Systems, Large Centrifugal Chillers, Cooling Towers, Heat Exchangers, Water Treatment Systems, VFD’s and Pumps, HVAC equipment, CRAC/CRAH’s, Humidification Systems, BMS and PLC Controls, Emergency Standby Diesel Generator Systems, Fuel/Oil systems, 480/277 and 208/120 electrical generation and distribution, Static UPS Systems, Double Interlock Pre-Action Systems, Communications cabling, cabling infrastructure, Network infrastructure and hardware). Knowledge: Understanding of data center electrical and mechanical systems, fiber optics, NEC, NFPA codes, safety best practices, and data trending. Skills: Ability to layout, pull, dress, and terminate fiber and copper; diagnose IT hardware; leadership; communication; proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project. Abilities: Effective communication with customers and internal staff; coordination with contractors; quick learning; multi-tasking; operation of tools. Education/Experience: High School Diploma or greater; 2-5 years in data center industry; ability to pass background check. Physical Demands: Ability to stand 1/3 - 2/3 of the time; walk 1/3 - 2/3 of the time; sit 1/3 - 2/3 of the time; climb and balance 1/3 - 2/3 of the time; stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl 1/3 - 2/3 of the time; reach with hands & arms 1/3 - 2/3 of the time; lift up to 50 lbs 1/3 of the time. Compensation
Base salary between $34.50/hr and $40.00/hr. Eligible for annual bonus, equity based on performance. Posting Timeline
