The Aircraft Mechanic Instructor
is responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive instruction in assigned courses, ensuring that students grasp both theoretical concepts and practical applications in aircraft maintenance. In addition to teaching, the instructor manages administrative tasks such as maintaining records, assessing student performance, and collaborating with faculty to enhance the curriculum. This role fosters a supportive learning environment that prepares students for careers in aviation. Key Duties
Provide engaging and effective teaching in aircraft maintenance principles while developing curricula aligned with industry standards. Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and offers individualized support. Oversee administrative responsibilities, including maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. This position ensures the training program effectively prepares students for aviation careers in alignment with industry standards. Job Responsibilities
Teach classes on a scheduled basis, creating an inclusive environment that fosters student engagement and learning in aircraft maintenance. Collaborate with the Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, and Campus Executive Director to develop and refine curriculum, prepare course materials, and schedule classes. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom and laboratory environment; ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained for student use. Establish and maintain accurate academic and attendance records, submitting attendance, grades, evaluations, and other documentation as required. Notify the Supervisor of current or potential issues and implement retention techniques to support student success. Complete assigned performance-based teacher education modules, participate in classroom observations and instructor evaluations, and respond to student feedback to improve instruction. Attend and/or lead in-service trainings, faculty meetings, and other mandatory sessions for professional development. Assist in managing department equipment inventory and submit replenishment requests as needed. Monitor student attendance closely and alert the Supervisor to absences, especially at critical points, to address retention concerns. Complete other tasks and projects as assigned to support the aircraft maintenance program. Required Qualifications
FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate Minimum three (3) years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience (diverse experience considered) High School Diploma or GED Strong command of both theory and practice in aircraft maintenance with ongoing professional development Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, compliance-oriented educational setting Detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized with multitasking abilities Integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism Effective verbal and written communication with a focus on customer service in an educational context Motivated, goal-oriented, and with strong problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and collaboratively with excellent interpersonal skills Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams) Willingness to work outside regular hours as needed Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree in a related field Campus Nexus experience Work Schedule
Option 1: Monday - Thursday 6:00 am – 2:30 pm; Friday 6:00 am – 12:00 pm Option 2: Monday - Thursday 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm; Friday half-day (flexible hours) What We Offer
The compensation for this position pays up to
$34/hr
plus a
