This role supports the procurement team by developing training and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Job Summary

Leads the development and administration of procurement training for new hires or existing Procurement team members. Creates and manages solicitations to support the department’s mission. Participates in the planning and implementation of required business processes. Ensures compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities Develops, maintains, and organizes internal and external training programs and instructional materials for Procurement, including job aids, manuals, and videos.

Assists with orientation, access, and initial training needs for new procurement staff.

Delivers skills, procedural, and non-procedural training sessions and ensures training completion is documented.

Reviews university, State, and USG procurement changes and communicates updates to the procurement team.

Documents system processes and functionality and recommends improvements as applicable.

Identifies training and development opportunities within the procurement team under procurement leadership direction.

Manages the Contract Assessment Report (CAR) process with end-users and suppliers to align supply market trends with KSU business needs.

Assists in resolving billing discrepancies to ensure prompt purchase order closeout.

Coordinates resolution of purchase order payment issues with Accounts Payable, as needed.

Acts as the Procurement Officer for assigned solicitation, requisitions, or work request ticket processing as needed.

Qualifications Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Business or Humanities or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Required Experience:

Three (3) years of work experience in procurement, acquisition, contracting or related area, with some training and development experience.

Preferred Qualifications One or more professional certifications (e.g., GCPA, GCPM, CPPO, CPPB, CPSM) or ability to obtain within nine months of hire.

Working knowledge of PeopleSoft (Oracle) and related procurement systems.

Experience with online training technology and in an academic environment.

Experience in supply chain, materials management, purchasing, or paralegal contract administration.

Advanced degree in Business or Humanities preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The budgeted salary range is

$51,600

to

Additional Information This is not a supervisory position.

This position does not have any financial responsibilities.

This position will travel up to 24% of the time.

This role is considered a position of trust and does not require a purchasing card (P-Card).
