CAMBA offers more than 180 integrated programs in Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. We serve nearly 80,000 individuals and families, including almost 13,000 youth, and work with a diverse cross section of New Yorkers. CAMBA operates 6 single adult shelters, 6 family shelters and one drop-in center. Magnolia House serves 200 single women at any given time, the majority diagnosed with mental illness, some with co-occurring chemical addictions. Reports To:

Vice President What the Assistant Program Director Does

Understand all aspects of contract requirements and communicate this understanding to staff Communicate with peers in other CAMBA shelters and external agencies on issues related to client progress and best practices Work with staff to set realistic weekly and monthly performance targets in accordance with contract requirements Observe direct reporting staff engaging with clients and/or supervisory staff Conduct periodic internal file reviews and implement Quality Assurance measures to ensure quality service delivery to clients (e.g., address and investigate client complaints) Assist the Vice-President in providing oversight for all aspects of the program in his/her absence Prepare reports and statistical information for CAMBA management and funder use Assist in the analysis of program and demographic client data to make programmatic improvements Organize onsite and offsite training opportunities for professional development of staff Confer with the Vice-President and/or other CAMBA management staff as needed regarding programmatic and personnel issues Ensure and maintain regulatory standards (e.g., Department of Health, OTDA, DHS, Coalition for the Homeless) related to food, emergency supplies, linen, personal belongings, client mail, laundry, and personal care items Plan and organize program activities to maximize contract goals and performance targets Develop program content addressing residents’ needs related to ADL, Time Management, Critical Thinking, shelter rules and regulations Plan, coordinate and facilitate social/peer support and ADL events Troubleshoot client and direct reporting staff program problems and make decisions per policies, procedures and protocols Develop and implement crisis prevention and/or intervention strategies for a safe environment Provide assistance and follow-up for critical incidents with clients Liaise with food vendors and subcontractors to ensure quality service delivery Liaise with community leaders and groups to build connections and troubleshoot issues Ensure staff use of electronic database and oversee data integrity Conduct and document one-on-one supervision of direct reporting staff to assess and improve performance Review and sign time sheets Prepare performance appraisals for direct reporting staff Attend staff/funder/outside agency meetings as requested Immediately report to the appropriate Vice-President any monitoring visits, funders’ events, significant events, or incidents that might subject CAMBA to liability Complete incident, weekly and monthly reports Facilitate interdepartmental communication and conduct regular staff/departmental meetings Other duties may be modified, expanded or assigned over time Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) Two years of applicable experience and/or equivalent experience Other Requirements

TB test required Bilingual English and Spanish (Preferred) Compensation and Benefits

Compensation:

$72,000-$75,000 annually Note: Salary ranges are the low to high end for the applicable position and program. The salary offered will be based on factors such as experience, education, budget, program size, internal equity, and skills. Status:
