SUMMARY DESCRIPTION The QC Microbiologist is responsible for ensuring the microbial quality of products throughout the manufacturing process by performing laboratory tests on samples of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods, adhering to established quality standards and regulatory guidelines to guarantee product safety and efficacy. Duties include sample collection, microbiological testing, data analysis, documentation, and maintaining laboratory equipment and cleanliness to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Responsibilities

Protect consumers from health hazards and ensure that materials don’t deteriorate during their shelf life. Be responsible for following all Standard Operating Procedures, good manufacturing practices, good documentation practices, and good laboratory practices Be responsible for the timely completion of all duties and document all work applicable to Quality Control procedures and projects as defined. Be responsible for providing complete, reliable, and prompt information to managers and other team members. Be responsible for reporting any injuries, unsafe equipment or safety violations to the supervisor and management. Be responsible for organizing the Lab area in an uncluttered, clean way. Perform miscellaneous job related duties as assigned and cross train to be able to back up other Lab Technicians Essential Functions Test raw materials and finished products for microorganisms. Conduct various microbiological tests like total aerobic count, yeast and mold count, specific pathogen detection, sterility testing, and environmental monitoring according to established procedures. Perform and document: Laboratory testing, Microbial testing, Raw Material Inspections, Organize, maintain, and document: Finished product retains, QC standards, Work order history records, Out of Specification Reports, Nonconformance Reports Maintain, calibrate, and verify calibration for laboratory equipment Maintain the hygiene and cleanliness of the Micro lab and quality office working areas. Prepare batch tickets for production. Stock all testing equipment and supplies and prepare orders when needed to ensure adequate supply Assist in co-worker, supervisor and management projects as they arise. Overtime in evenings or weekends may occasionally be required. Any additional tasks as requested by the Quality Control Manager. Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related field preferred. Work Experience

Strong understanding of microbiology principles, aseptic techniques, and standard microbiological methods Experience with laboratory equipment and procedures Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to follow established procedures Strong documentation and reporting skills Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements (GMP, etc.) Experience working in a GMP environment preferred Strong problem solving abilities 3+ years’ experience in the manufacturing industry preferred Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for the duration of the production shift. The employee is infrequently required to sit; climb, balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must infrequently lift up to 50 pounds. Seniority level
