CPH is seeking a talented
Project Engineer III in Water/Wastewater
to join our Gainesville, FL market. This is a position for a Florida licensed engineer who possesses strong technical expertise in utility space. Location:
Gainesville, FL Responsibilities
Lead engineering projects by overseeing all technical and management aspects throughout the project lifecycle for water, wastewater, and stormwater systems, including design, permitting, compliance, and construction operations. Develop detailed project plans, including scope of work, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation for complex water and wastewater projects. Ensure adherence to timelines and budget constraints while meeting client objectives. Provide advanced engineering design expertise, particularly in hydraulic modeling, treatment and storage systems, and water/sewer pumping systems. Lead the development of innovative solutions for transmission, distribution, collection, and storage challenges. Manage all phases of the project lifecycle from feasibility studies through design, permitting, construction, and close-out. Ensure project deliverables meet regulatory standards and best practices for water and wastewater infrastructure and comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental permitting processes. Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies to secure necessary permits and approvals. Serve as a mentor to junior engineers and provide guidance to enhance technical and professional development. Lead and manage project teams to ensure successful project execution; travel periodically for business development, site investigations, and construction administration. Collaborate with project engineers in other offices and identify project risks, developing mitigation strategies to ensure continuity and successful outcomes. Contribute to business growth by building client relationships, supporting proposals, and demonstrating CPH expertise to potential clients. Required Skills, Education, & Experience
B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering with a P.E. license in the state of Florida; ability to obtain additional licensure via reciprocity is a plus. At least 8+ years of relevant experience in a consulting engineering firm. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with Deltek Vision and Smartsheet or similar platforms. Experience with WaterCAD, AutoCAD, REVIT, BioWin, BlueBeam, ICPR is a plus; proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Suite or BlueBeam is a plus. Ability to exercise critical thinking, independent judgment, and effective communication with clients regarding proposed solutions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to multi-task across multiple projects while adhering to schedules and budgets; flexible travel to meetings and project deadlines.
