multiple immediate openings for Mentors/Tutors
for After-School Youth programs at various Club locations within
Lorain County . The grant-funded Mentoring & Tutoring staff will plan and implement daily programming content targeted towards character and leadership development as well as career readiness and academic success by facilitating meaningful lessons and skill development. These roles are part-time positions and will report to Club and Program Directors. Positions are Part-time, Monday-Friday Approx schedule is 2 pm - 7 pm - 20-25 hours per week. Starting pay rate is $ 17.50 per hour. Create an engaging and safe environment that facilitates the achievement of Mentoring & Tutoring Outcomes such as greater academic success, increased career and financial literacy, and positive social-emotional learning Utilize provided programming resources to create and implement age-appropriate, effective lessons that target key learning outcomes for small group sizes (around 10) Ability to breakdown concepts and provide support in areas including phonological awareness, oral reading fluency, comprehension strategies, critical thinking, and vocabulary/writing development Maintain accurate program records as well as completing requested reports, surveys, and other program assessments as necessary within a timely manner Facilitate direct and frequent communication between Tutor, Club Director, and Program Director to ensure program efficiency and address issues promptly and effectively. SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: 18 years of age with a High School diploma or GED Prior experience working with youth in a paid or volunteer capacity such as mentoring, tutoring, coaching, or teaching Ability to motivate youth and implement positive behavior management practices Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to relate to and work well with others Excellent planning skills to organize, plan/implement, and monitor youth programs in a safe environment Final candidates must clear a background check and drug test.
