The mission of the USC Suzanne Dworak‑Peck School of Social Work is to improve the well‑being of vulnerable individuals and communities, advance social and economic justice, and eradicate pressing societal problems in complex and culturally diverse urban environments throughout Southern California, the nation, and the world. Responsibilities
Conduct initial assessment of all new patients; interview and evaluate patients and family members. Identify factors that may interfere with obtaining maximum benefits from treatment.
Develop and implement patient management plans, including coordination of referrals to specialty and social services, recording of progress notes, and ensuring continuity of care.
Participate in monitoring and evaluating the quality and appropriateness of patient care.
Provide appropriate therapeutic services to assist patients and families in coping with presenting symptoms and problems.
Participate on interdisciplinary treatment team.
Maintain records and produce written and oral reports concerning patient care, counseling and therapeutic activities. Prepare reports and other documents concerning patients.
Maintain compliance with established university and department policies and procedures, quality assurance, safety, environmental, infection control and meet accreditation and regulatory agency requirements.
Conduct specialized in‑service training in area of expertise for various audiences.
Attend and participate in staff development programs, department‑related conferences, and administrative meetings.
Establish and maintain appropriate network of professional contacts. Stay current with professional organizations and publications. Attend and participate in meetings, conferences, etc. Represent university and/or unit as assigned.
Provide supervision for unlicensed staff, interns, and volunteers.
Serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and mandatory reporter under the Clergy Act based on university responsibilities. Receive reports of crimes or criminal incidents from victims of crimes and/or third parties; notify Department of Public Safety immediately of any reported serious crime or criminal incident indicating an ongoing threat to the university community; and notify the Clery Compliance Coordinator in the Department of Public Safety.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
Minimum Education
Master's degree
Minimum Education: Master’s degree or Master’s degree Social Work. Minimum Licenses: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or LCSW eligible.
Minimum Experience
2 years
Required Qualifications
Master's degree from accredited school of social work. Current California State License in Clinical Social Work.
Expertise in child and adolescent wellness, health, and mental health
Compensation The annual base range for this position is $78,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
