The California Managing Attorney’s Office is growing and has added a new Senior Litigation Docket Clerk position based in Los Angeles or Orange County offices. The focus of this new role is on calendaring using the firm’s calendaring database (CourtAlert), retrieval of court documents, maintaining and updating all related databases, processing and calendaring incoming court documents, checking dockets for updates and running calendar reports, and communicating with attorneys and other members of the firm regarding MAO calendaring research and docketing procedures.

This role reports to the Litigation Docket Supervisor.

Responsibilities

Provide support to litigation attorneys, including calculating deadlines and retrieving documents.

Track critical dates and related details and communicate information with attorneys, paralegals and/or staff as necessary.

Review court filings and enter calendar deadlines in centralized docketing software (CourtAlert).

Search cases using software and Internet resources as necessary.

Assist in reviewing court filings to ensure compliance with court rules and procedures.

Assist with electronic court filings for state, federal district and appellate courts.

Assist with other administrative projects or provide general back‑up support as necessary.

Qualifications

Understanding of court docketing and calendaring procedures and familiarity with court filings and general rules of court for processing pleadings.

Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.

Strong knowledge of court rules and procedures in California state and federal courts.

Strong research ability and knowledge of court rules and procedures.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.

Flexibility to work overtime and weekends, based on department needs.

Experience

Experience working in a large law firm highly desired.

Minimum of 3 years of prior experience in litigation docketing desired.

Familiarity with CourtAlert (or other rules‑based calendaring software such as CompuLaw, MA3000, etc.) preferred.

Experience with firmwide calendaring preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Experience with federal, state and local court systems, including electronic filing systems (e.g. NYSCEF, NexGen, PACER, etc.).

The annual compensation range for this position is $95‑110k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
