The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join their growing team. This is a career-defining opportunity for an ambitious paralegal looking to develop their skills alongside some of the industry's leading trial attorneys. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundational knowledge of the litigation process and a passion for contributing to a winning team. You will be an integral part of the case team, providing essential support across a diverse range of litigation matters and gaining invaluable hands-on experience in a fast-paced, sophisticated legal environment.
Core Responsibilities
Case File Management:
Assist in the organization and maintenance of all case files, including pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and key case documents, from inception through resolution. Discovery Support:
Play a key role in the discovery process, including assisting with the preparation of discovery requests and responses, managing document collections, and maintaining document production logs. Legal Document Preparation:
Draft a variety of legal documents for attorney review, including correspondence, deposition notices, subpoenas, and initial shells of motions and pleadings. Factual Investigation & Analysis:
Conduct factual research, review and summarize documents and deposition transcripts, and assist in the creation of case chronologies and factual memoranda. Litigation & Trial Support:
Provide critical support for depositions, hearings, and trials by preparing exhibit lists, organizing trial binders, coordinating witness logistics, and assisting with courtroom presentations. Citation & Proofreading:
Perform cite-checking and proofreading of legal briefs and motions to ensure accuracy and compliance with all applicable court rules. Qualifications & Attributes Experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal in a law firm environment. Education:
Bachelor's Degree and/or an ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate is required. Technical Proficiency:
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with e-discovery platforms (e.g., Relativity) and litigation support software. Knowledge of New Jersey state and Federal court rules and e-filing (ECF) is essential. Organizational Skills:
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with a proven ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally. Mindset:
