Overview
Dane Street is an Independent Review Organization and a national provider of Utilization Review services. We are expanding our physician panel with opportunities for non-traditional physician work and supplemental income. This is a telework opportunity for physicians providing a caseload customized to your schedule. The physician panel is comprised of independent contract reviewers (1099) compensated on a per-case basis. We are looking for physicians who are board certified in
Pain Management
with active California licenses and experience in the California Independent Medical Review (IMR) process. Responsibilities
Serve as an IMR reviewer responsible for evaluating medical necessity based on established standards and clearly articulating rationale in written determinations. Apply expertise in the Medical Treatment Utilization Schedule (MTUS), Official Disability Guidelines (ODG), and medicolegal writing. Review treatment requests that have been denied, delayed, or modified due to medical necessity and prepare written determinations. Maintain adherence to established timelines and ensure quality and timely delivery of determinations/reports. Qualifications
Current, unrestricted California Medical License Active Practice Board Certified in Pain Management Experience with California IMR is preferred (not required) Benefits and Work Model
Independent consultant role with schedule flexibility and the ability to dictate volume and case types No doctor/patient relationship is established and no treatment is provided; these are advisory-only opinions Typical turn-around time (TAT) is 7 business days, with Dane Street coordinating administrative tasks and ensuring time is spent on clinical decision-making Streamlined case flow and a user-friendly work portal; support for preparing and delivering determinations/reports Initial training and ongoing support with a point of contact for questions Training and Onboarding
