Volunteers of America‑Greater New York (VOA‑Greater New York) is an anti‑poverty organization working to end homelessness in the New York area by 2050. We operate over 60 programs across New York City, Northern New Jersey and Westchester County.
Front Desk Monitor Responsibility: Answer telephone calls, take messages, receive and assist visitors, receive and route deliveries, aid residents, and control front door access at Eden House, a single‑room occupancy residence providing permanent supportive housing to formerly homeless single adults.
Location:
Bronx, NY 10452
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Polite, pleasant manner, efficient, firm, and ability to operate a busy front desk/security operation.
Capacity to perform diverse tasks with ease and maintain confidentiality.
Certifications (required within 90 days of hire – VOA will cover cost):
Coordinator of Fire Safety & Alarms (F80).
Principal Responsibilities:
Greet all visitors; announce arrival to staff or residents.
Ensure all clients sign in and out as required.
Route mail and deliveries as required.
Handle or assist in crisis intervention.
Follow assigned procedures in emergency situations.
Conduct rounds at residence as assigned.
