Overview
The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Worker position (11-166-SC/San Luis Obispo) is a part-time role for the Christmas fundraising season. The Bell Ringer represents The Salvation Army Corps in the Kettle Program during November and December and reports to the Kettle Coordinator and/or Corps Officer. The Bell Ringer is responsible for representing The Salvation Army Corps in the Kettle Program fundraising activity during the months of November to December. The Bell Ringer will report directly to the Kettle Coordinator and/or Corps Officer. This person will need to cooperate with the supervisors and directors of other programs.
Responsibilities
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis Ability to grasp, push and pull objects such as kettles and kettle stands and reach overhead Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Never leave kettle unattended for any reason, at any time, except for authorized breaks and only at a secure location. Wear the identification, including any special clothing, provided by The Salvation Army (TSA) at all times at the kettle stand. The ID is to be returned at the end of employment. Report to work timely and present yourself in a clean and orderly condition. Work the hours and location determined by the Kettle Coordinator. Responsible for completing, signing and placing a daily time card in your kettle at the end of the working day. Abide by all rules, regulations and instructions provided by the Kettle Coordinator and TSA. If corrective action is warranted, appropriate action will be taken, up to and including termination. Friendly and outgoing, helpful and positive, with a pleasant attitude so that you will contribute to TSA’s Christmas effort. Minimum Requirements
Minimum 18 years of age Friendly Good communication skills Honest and reliable Neat and tidy in all manners Be able to take directions from supervisors Ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds Seniority level
