Job Duties
Conduct legal and factual research using online databases and legal research tools. Prepare, review, and file legal documents in both state and federal courts, ensuring all deadlines and procedural requirements are met. Support attorneys in trial preparation and courtroom proceedings, including assembling exhibits, coordinating logistics, and operating presentation software. Organize and maintain case files, both physical and electronic, and track important case milestones. Handle discovery-related tasks draft responses, review productions, prepare subpoenas, and manage follow-up on compliance. Arrange depositions, meetings, travel, and other case-related events for attorneys. Assist in drafting, proofreading, and finalizing pleadings, correspondence, and discovery materials. Manage e-discovery databases by organizing documents, running searches, coding files, and preparing productions. Coordinate with court reporters, expert witnesses, and other litigation service providers. Provide administrative support, including time entry, expense reporting, and billing assistance. Prepare deposition materials, organize exhibits, and assist attorneys with case strategy preparation. Serve as a communication link between attorneys, staff, clients, and outside vendors. Offer coverage and assistance to other team members when needed to maintain workflow continuity. Job Requirements / Qualifications
At least 5 years of litigation experience in a law firm or similar professional setting. Demonstrated ability to support multiple attorneys, including senior-level partners. Paralegal certification or qualifications consistent with California Business & Professions Code 6450–6456. Trial preparation and courtroom support experience strongly preferred. Thorough understanding of California and federal court rules, procedures, and e-filing systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with legal document/case management software. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a focus on professionalism.
