The Mission of St. PJ's Children's Home is to be a safe and loving refuge for children in crisis and to accompany them on their journey to healing and wholeness, breaking the cycle of abuse and neglect one child at a time. Summary

Under the general direction of the Lead Case Manager, the Intake Specialist is responsible for coordinating and implementing intake services for UAC in accordance with agency policy, TDFPS Minimum Standards and ORR Policy. The Intake Specialist must be on-call based upon programmatic needs to ensure that the intake process is completed for each UAC placed at St. PJ’s. The Intake Specialist promotes best practice and facilitates the optimum delivery of quality trauma informed care and case management services to UAC. Position Responsibilities

Managing the UAC Portal Capacity to ensure accurate counts of UAC in care, UAC pending placement, and closed beds Responding to incoming placement confirmation emails and/or calls in a timely manner Working collaboratively with ORR intakes to ensure that the UAC referral process is conducted Communicating information about incoming UAC to program staff and keeping them aware of arrival dates/times Conducting intake interviews and orientation, and assessing client needs and strengths Complete intake and orientation interviews and process within required timeframes Assisting with case manager assignment to ensure all UAC are effectively assigned within the allotted time frame Completing documentation in the UAC case file and entering required information in the UAC portal within required timeframes Adapting to changing program needs to include work in the evenings, weekends and holidays as needed Actively participating in the enhancement and/or improvement of the living and working environment for residents and employees Attending administrative staff meetings, staff retreats, and other team building activities as scheduled Demonstrating proficiency in knowledge of agency policy, DFPS Minimum Standards and ORR Policy Demonstrating knowledge and sensitivity of cultural norms, values and heritage Assuming ON-CALL duties after regular business hours, including nights, weekends and holidays Must be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of information or material obtained in the service with the organization, including client names, services rendered, donors, investigations, and financial information Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy is mandatory Every employee is expected to take a solution-oriented approach and promote collaboration in line with the Mission and Vision Attendance and successful completion of a 10-day New Employee Orientation is mandated; non-completion may result in termination Other duties as assigned Competencies

Education: Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science, human services, social services or related field Experience: Child welfare and/or case management experience is strongly recommended License and Credentials: Reliable transportation; Valid driver’s license; Valid vehicle insurance Able to show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route if working directly with unaccompanied children. Vaccination requirements: Varicella, MMR, DTaP/TDap, and Influenza as specified by policy. Minimum Knowledge And Skills

Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and various web-based databases Strong analytical and organizational skills Ability to read and interpret policy, procedures and standards Detail oriented, self-motivated, able to work independently and on a team Strong written and verbal communication skills Critical thinking and problem solving skills Ability to remain calm in crisis situations Bilingual: Fluent in English/Spanish (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension) Travel Requirements
