Sign-On Bonus Available. Relocation Assistance Available. Additional $6.00/hr Safety Incentive Pay. Receive 17% Weekday Nights, 26% Weekend Nights and 15% Weekend Day shift differentials.

Minimum offer $28.32/hr. Maximum offer $42.48/hr.

Department: BH Forensic ACT-Tech. Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) is an evidence-based model that provides wrap‑around mental health services in the community to adults experiencing persistent and severe mental health issues and criminal justice involvement. The FACT Therapist is part of a multidisciplinary team and is responsible for providing individual and group therapy to FACT clients in community and non‑traditional settings.

FTE: 1.0. Full Time. Shift: Days.

Position Summary Provide, oversee, and/or administer a wide range of psychosocial evaluation/assessment, diagnostic, counseling therapy, crisis intervention, and case management services in a high‑intensity clinical environment requiring independent decision‑making and program administration. Lead and train lower‑level counselors/social workers, students, and interns as appropriate. Ensure adherence to hospital and departmental policies. Patient care may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups.

Detailed Responsibilities

Provide counseling, therapy, and/or psychotherapy to clients and families.

Prepare treatment plans, discharge plans, and follow‑up care programs.

Consult with other therapists and related professional staff; refer clients to appropriate service agencies.

Provide and arrange therapeutic interventions including emergency services and crisis intervention.

Refer clients to social service agencies; may visit patients and families in their homes.

Document care, assess reliability of treatment, and adjust methods as appropriate.

Prepare documentation for civil commitment hearings or legal proceedings.

Perform administrative functions such as monitoring expenditures and preparing reports.

Provide clinical supervision to lower‑level therapists and/or graduate social work students or interns.

Deliver formal teaching, consultation, and in‑service training to relevant professionals.

Promote best practices in treatment and enhance professional development through educational programs.

Assure patient safety by following policies, reporting concerns, and encouraging patient participation in care.

Qualifications Education

Master's Degree (Related Discipline).

Experience

3 years of directly related experience documenting therapeutic work in an age‑appropriate environment.

Credentials

LPCC/CMHC, LCSW, or LMFT licensed in New Mexico.

Language

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or another listed language (Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, Navajo).

Physical Conditions Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally; walking or standing for significant periods; slight pushing or pulling of materials.

Working Conditions

Significant hazard: Chemicals and bio‑hazardous materials require PPE.

May be credentialed by UNMH Credentialing Committee.

Tuberculosis testing required upon hire and as needed.
