Junior Target Requirements Analyst (MDA)
The Junior Target Requirements Analyst will be part of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Threat Systems Engineering Directorate team, managing the Agency's assessment objectives as requirements for MDA flight tests. The candidate will support development of parametric target specifications and trajectories, radar cross-section (RCS), and infrared (IR) signatures encompassing intelligence assessments for Missile Defense System design, test, and performance assessments.
Job Description (What You’ll Be Doing)
Perform research and technical/engineering analysis necessary to create products that support the development of flight test target requirements, utilizing a parametric threat space (PTS) methodology.
Conduct analysis involving development of bounds for PTS such as kinematics, radar cross section (RCS), and infrared signatures using various software tools and analytical techniques.
Participate in writing and reviewing products for accuracy, quality, and clarity, working closely with government Target Engineers to ensure products conform to engineering best practices.
Required Skills (What Required Skills You Bring)
BS/BA degree and at least 3 years of experience working on missile defense-related or other DoD projects.
Active Secret security clearance is required.
Ability to research and evaluate intelligence‑based threat system performance data and identify relevant threat parameters for target to emulate threat characteristics and performance to support test objectives.
Ability to utilize software tools to manipulate RCS and IR signature data to generate bounds.
Experience in technical engineering, identification of risks, and preparing technical briefings.
Preferred Skills (Desired But Not Required)
TS clearance is desired.
BS/BA degree in an engineering, math, statistics, or other related STEM field.
MDA experience.
Basic understanding of radar and optical systems.
Experience with tools such as MATLAB or Optical Signatures Code.
Experience in Anaconda or Python programming languages.
MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
