Job Description
The Jimenez Law Firm is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join their team. The firm has locations in Lewisville, Flower Mound, and Odessa, Texas. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of experience handling family, probate, and/or civil litigation matters. The litigation paralegal will be responsible for: Preparing preliminary drafts of pleadings, discovery, and correspondence; Maintaining calendar, deadlines, and reminders for attorneys; Preparing, organizing, and filing documents and correspondence; Assisting in scheduling and preparation for hearings, depositions, and mediations. Requirements include: 5+ years of experience in a paralegal role with family, probate, or civil litigation experience; Interviewing potential clients and assisting attorneys with case strategies; Client-focused approach; Managing case files and drafting legal documents; Drafting pleadings, discovery requests, and orders under attorney supervision; Managing discovery deadlines and responses; Preparing attorneys for trials and mediations, attending trials as needed; Supporting attorneys and working as part of a team; Knowledge of the Texas Family Code and Texas Rules of Civil Procedure; Excellent communication skills and system organization; Ability to access online court systems and research tools; Meeting a minimum of 1200 billable hours annually; Proficiency in MS Office, electronic filing, and familiarity with bankruptcy and PACER system is a plus.
