This role provides the opportunity to shape the complete student experience—from recruitment and enrollment through retention, persistence, and completion. The Dean will design and implement forward-thinking, data-informed strategies that promote growth and success across all areas of enrollment and student support. Working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and leadership, this individual will cultivate a caring and inclusive campus culture that celebrates student potential and achievement.

As a valued member of the Lamar Community College and Colorado Community College System, the Dean upholds the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance, ensuring adherence to LCC and CCCS policies, FERPA regulations, and all applicable laws.

This position requires in‑person work and all applicants outside of Lamar, Colorado must be willing to relocate.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead strategic enrollment and retention planning, creating enrollment goals and strategies for targeted student populations to advance institutional growth, retention, and the College’s mission of access.

Oversee the functions of admissions, recruitment, financial aid, cashier, testing, student life, career services, and academic advising. Supervise, coach, and evaluate leadership within each of these areas.

Develop and execute effective, analytics‑driven, and dynamic strategic enrollment and retention plans.

Initiate divisional budget requests and coordinate the execution of the approved budget.

Manage divisional facilities and equipment, including maintenance and control of inventory. Create communication plans for all phases of admission, recruitment, and retention.

Work collaboratively with all departments involved in the recruitment and admissions process, including marketing, foundation, athletics, and other key partners.

Understand and communicate best practices, new processes, and training in all areas of admissions, recruitment, financial aid, registrar, testing, student life, career services, and academic advising.

Convene working groups and planning teams composed of faculty and staff from across the institution to develop short‑, medium‑, and long‑range enrollment initiatives.

Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with College leadership, working collegially with members of the President’s Cabinet, faculty, staff, and others to develop and implement short‑ and long‑term enrollment plans.

Assume special responsibilities as assigned by the President.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED)

Master’s degree in a related field with a minimum of three years of experience in admissions, student services, or other closely related areas.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to speak effectively in public settings.

A demonstrated understanding of, appreciation for, and commitment to the mission and values of the community college.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Doctorate degree from an accredited institution.

A minimum of five years of administrative‑level experience in student‑facing departments within a higher education environment, including staff supervision and demonstrated leadership.

Experience in data analysis and a strong understanding of effective assessment practices.

Proven experience in administrative oversight and fiscal management.

Salary Range:

$66,000–$74,000

Salary will be commensurate with education, experience, and market competitiveness, while maintaining internal equity.
