The Opportunity Paralegals in our Employment practice work closely with attorneys and partners in the litigation of discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, and harassment. We seek experienced FEHA paralegals to prepare plaintiff responses, review defendant responses, manage filings, and own calendaring and scheduling deadlines. This role handles a high volume of cases and requires anticipation, resourcefulness, and meticulous multi‑tasking.

Accountable for

Draft discovery, provoke, and deposition notices for attorney review.

Prepare substantive responses for plaintiffs and review defendants’ responses.

Prepare TOCs, TOAs, and other documents for filing with state and federal courts.

Draft meet & confers, complaints, witness statements, and correspondence.

Regularly communicate with partners, associates, clients, experts, and defense counsel in an effective and courteous manner.

Own calendaring and scheduling deadlines, ensuring accuracy and providing attorneys with 14‑, 7‑, and 3‑day reminders.

Assist with pre‑trial preparation, including drafting trial documents and preparing exhibits.

Qualifications

At least 3 years of paralegal experience in employment litigation for single plaintiff (FEHA).

Strong knowledge of employment law and state/federal filing processes.

Working knowledge of the California Code of Civil Procedure.

Familiarity with DFEH and EEOC claim processes.

Experience drafting and propping discovery, initial complaints, meet‑and‑confers, witness statements, disclosures, expert designations, objections letters, etc.

Knowledge of e‑Filing and California rules and deadlines for propounding, serving discovery, deposition notices, default entry, motions, MSC, TSC, etc.

Experience in federal procedure is a plus.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Litify experience preferred.

Excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and follow‑up skills.

Type at least 40 words per minute.

Compensation

$72,000‑$90,000 annually, depending on experience.
