Overview
The Department of Pathology at Weill Cornell Medicine, in partnership with NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens, is seeking an academically oriented, board-certified/board-eligible, full-time General Surgical Pathologist with breast pathology expertise to join our growing team.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold an M.D., D.O., or M.D./Ph.D. degree
Board certified in AP or AP/CP
Qualified for a New York State Certificate of Qualification (COQ)
Breast subspecialty fellowship or equivalent experience
Team and Support The surgical pathology service is staffed by nine pathologists, operating within a semi-subspecialty sign-out model, closely collaborating with Weill Cornell Medicine. On-site PA, histology, and immunohistochemistry support state-of-the-art diagnostic service.
Responsibilities
Provide general surgical pathology services with a focus on breast pathology
Perform general frozen sections
Night and weekend surgical pathology call
Participate in tumor boards
Other routine hospital-based duties
Practice setting and location At NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens, we are committed to high-quality care in New York City’s most culturally diverse borough. Located in Flushing, New York, our patients have access to Weill Cornell Medicine Physicians and a full range of services from our centers of excellence dedicated to treating cancer, cardiovascular diseases, neurologic disorders, and digestive conditions. This 535-bed busy tertiary facility is an ACS Level 1 trauma center, an academic affiliate of Weill Cornell Medical College, and serves over two million residents in Queens. Our academic programs include three graduate medical education residency programs and six fellowship programs.
Community Queens, home to Flushing Meadows Park, is a diverse urban area offering a wide range of cultural and recreational opportunities.
Compensation and appointment The salary range for this position is $260,000 to $370,000. This compensation range does not include benefits or any incentive payments, based on quality measures and productivity, that may be applicable to this role.
The selected candidate will have an academic appointment at Weill Cornell Medicine. Academic rank will be commensurate with the level of experience and scholarly accomplishments.
