Responsibilities Patient Care and Preparation: Explaining procedures: Ultrasound technicians explain the ultrasound procedure to patients, ensuring they understand what to expect and addressing any concerns. Patient positioning: They position patients on the exam table and adjust equipment to ensure optimal imaging. Applying gel: They apply a conductive gel to the patient's skin to improve image quality. Providing comfort and support: Ultrasound technicians offer comfort and support to patients during the procedure, creating a positive and reassuring experience. Operating Ultrasound Equipment: Setting up equipment: They prepare and maintain the ultrasound equipment, ensuring it is functioning correctly. Capturing images: Technicians operate the ultrasound machine to acquire high-quality images of various parts of the body. Adjusting settings: They adjust the equipment settings and manipulate the transducer to optimize image quality and capture the necessary views. Analyzing images: They evaluate the images during the exam, ensuring they are clear and free of artifacts. Documenting findings: They annotate images and record relevant information about the procedure. Image Analysis and Communication: Reviewing images: Ultrasound technicians review the images to identify any abnormalities or areas of concern. Noting findings: They document their observations and findings from the ultrasound exam. Communicating with physicians: They relay relevant information and findings to physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals. Preparing reports: They may prepare preliminary reports or summaries of their findings to aid in diagnosis. Must have an Associate or a Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic technology, Radiology, or a related field ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification is preferred Must have prior experience as an Ultrasound Technician Should specialize in vascular sonography, especially venous insufficiency and venous ablation procedures Should be willing to travel to select Nursing Homes in the Bronx and also staff the office and wound care center The salary for this position is $25 - $45 / hr (Negotiable) Comprehensive Benefits Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
