Calico is seeking a talented Scientist for our Genomics Technology Lab, passionate about teamwork and emerging technologies. Our lab utilizes advanced technologies, including single-cell and spatial profiling, to tackle challenging biological questions. In this role, you will serve as both an experimental and computational expert, optimizing workflows, analyzing emerging data, and pushing current technologies and computational algorithms to the cutting edge. Your contributions will directly support Calico’s mission to enhance human healthspan and lifespan.
Responsibilities:
Designing, conducting, analyzing and interpreting hands-on experiments
Collaborating closely with our machine learning and image analysis groups
Innovating our single-cell and spatial transcriptomics methods to improve data interpretation and result quality
Position Requirements:
PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genome Sciences, Bioengineering, Bioinformatics, or related fields
Familiarity with spatial and single cell genomics workflows (Nanostring, Vizgen, Xenium, SMART-seq, Scale, Parse, etc.)
Strong bioinformatics skills with substantial experience in genomic data analysis using R and/or Python
Must be willing to work onsite five days a week
Nice To Have:
Experience working with cell culture
Experience with tissue processing and handling
Experience with cryostat and/or microtome & histology techniques
