Penn State York invites applications for a teaching-line faculty position, Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor in Mechanical Engineering Technology; non-tenure line appointment, 36 weeks to begin August 2025. This is a one-year appointment with possibility of renewal. Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate courses that support ABET-accredited programs in mechanical engineering technology (two-year MET), in electro-mechanical engineering technology (four-year EMET), and 2+2 mechanical engineering courses. Participate in course, curriculum, and program development; advise students; provide career guidance; participate in campus, University, and community service activities; and engage in activities to stay current in one’s discipline. Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is expected. Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important. Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree or a Ph.D. with three to four years of industry experience. The candidate should be capable of teaching courses in statics, strength of materials, dynamics, and related courses. The successful candidate will teach lower- and upper-division courses in their specialty that support the MET, EMET, and 2+2 engineering majors. Experience in mechanical laboratory settings is highly desirable. Campus information
