Overview
The Licensed psychologist/independent contractor will provide psychological assessment services for patients who may meet diagnostic criteria for developmental delays; behavioral disorders; Intellectual Disability (ID); or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Responsibilities
Provides comprehensive psychological and developmental assessment of children and adolescents. Conducts diagnostic evaluations/assessments for Autism and differential diagnosis using standardized assessments such as the ADOS-2, CARS-2, GARS-2, ASRS, etc. Provides psychoeducation for patients and caregivers during the testing procedures and following review of evaluation. Ensures appropriate data systems are implemented to allow for the continual evaluation of plans and the achievement of individual goals and objectives. Ensures compliance with medical record documentation protocols. Ensures timely documentation of assessment findings, treatment plans and progress notes in accordance with established organizational procedures. Maintains all state licensure requirements. Builds knowledge of current trends and developments in assessment and treatments via appropriate professional literature, medical workshops, and publications. Qualifications
Doctorate degree in Psychology or Educational psychology from an accredited university. Current licensure as a psychologist in the state of Texas. A minimum of one year of clinical experience, preferably in the field of developmental disability. Experience with children with autism spectrum disorders as well as in behavioral intervention management. Experience with Intellectual Testing, Academic/Learning Disability Evaluation, Adaptive Functioning Evaluation, Autism Screening, Personality Assessment, Full/Abbreviated Neuropsychological Evaluation in children. Competency in evaluation of autism spectrum disorders in children using different assessments such as ADOS-2. Experience with administration, scoring, interpretation of psychological assessments as well as report writing. Knowledge of clinical psychology, developmental psychology, personality development, principles and application of evidence based interventions. Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook systems. Ability to utilize a fax machine, phone system and other office materials required for the position. Physical ability to lift and transfer children (minimum 25 lbs.). Ability to participate in handling and floor activities with children. Must be willing and able to "Bring caring to life."
