As a Facilities Electrician for Sheffield Pharmaceuticals, you will perform preventive maintenance and repair on electrical equipment and systems in a manufacturing environment. This may include troubleshooting/repair, design, installations, and general facilities maintenance of simple and complex electrical systems as well as working with operations and engineering teams to optimize manufacturing systems and machinery with a goal of maintaining safe, effective, and efficient processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and schematics

Maintain electrical wiring, controls and production equipment and handle electrical repairs

Determine component requirements and do task sequence planning

Repair and troubleshoot analog and discrete instrument loops, which may include 120 VAC control circuits and 480 VAC 3 phase motor starter circuits

Experience and expertise in 240 v corner grounded delta systems

Perform production equipment calibrations with use of various software, RTD and T/C calibrators, multimeters, and gauges

Troubleshoot and repair various electrical systems which may include PLCs, VFDs, smart pressure transmitters, magnetic & dp flow meters, temperature transmitters, ABB DCS systems, control valves, and smart valve controllers

Install wiring in both classified (Class 1 Div 2) and general duty areas

Maintain parts inventory and place orders as needed

Partner with engineers and contractors on system upgrades and other projects

Consistently adhere to NEC500, NFPA70, and hazardous location code requirements

Operate tools and equipment such as drills, conduit benders, threading machines

Follow safety protocols including Lock Out/Tagout and Hot Work procedures

Comply with company environmental, safety, and regulatory standards

Performs other related maintenance department duties as required including mechanical repairs and general maintenance, air conditioning, carpentry work and painting

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED

Minimum 3 years' experience as an Electrician

Trade school education/training, technical certification and instrumentation experience

CT Electrical License (E-2)

Knowledge of basic electrical principles related to hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, electricity and electronics, PLCs, A.C. and D.C. circuits, various power and distribution systems

Working knowledge of industrial electrical codes, occupational hazards, inspection techniques, and safety precautions in a production environment

Ability to read drawings, diagrams, blueprints and other schematics, use shop mathematics and understand principles of solid-state devices

Knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70 codes and general factory wiring

Skilled in the use of tools, machines and testing instruments used in the repair and overhaul of plant equipment.
