Our outpatient pharmacy at Barnes - Jewish Hospital is looking for patient - centered and motivated pharmacists to join their experienced team.

This is a high-volume pharmacy that specializes in bedside delivery of discharge prescriptions to the main hospital as well as retail prescriptions for the adjacent clinics.

Responsibilities

Verifies prescribed medications and dosages to ensure that therapy is safe and effective for the patient\'s condition. Reviews patient profiles to identify clinically significant side effects, drug allergies, and drug interactions. Processes and labels prescriptions with accurate data and directions for patient use.

Provides consultation to patients regarding side effects, drug interactions, specific storage requirement and directions for use.

Maintain proficiency in operating pharmacy workflow management systems for point of sale, prescription order entry, patient profile review or retrieval of clinical data. Preserve proper records relating to medication profiles, prescription files, controlled substances records, and other legal and departmental record and procedures.

Accepts new prescription orders and collaborates with other health care providers to manage patient\'s drug therapy for effectiveness.

Assists in all daily operations in a manner that facilitates the achievement of a high level of customer satisfaction and experience.

Role Purpose Provides customer focused pharmaceutical care and ensure the prompt and accurate dispensing, processing, and recording of prescriptions according to prescription orders. Direct and assist in the procurement, storage, distribution and disposal of medications. Collaborate with health care providers to assess, monitor, initiate and modify medication use according to patient condition and age specific criteria. Prevent, direct and resolve medication-related issues. Counsel and educate to promote optimal drug therapy. Supervise and direct supportive staff.
