Position Summary The Environmental Specialist will play a key role in advancing Crescent Energy’s environmental stewardship, focusing on emissions reduction, regulatory compliance, and environmental program development. Reporting to the Environmental Manager, this position is based in our Houston, TX office, with occasional travel to field locations. The role supports corporate and field operations by ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and by driving environmental initiatives aligned with our ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Manage Tier II reporting and filing across all assets, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Track drilling and completion activities, preparing and submitting NSPS OOOOb completion notifications.

Ensure environmental compliance with state and federal agencies through proper filings, registrations, and tracking.

Support emissions and regulatory compliance reporting for NSPS OOOOa, OOOOb, and Subpart W GHG programs.

Manage engine compliance programs, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations.

Maintain accurate records for air permits, Title V permitting compliance, and TCEQ annual operational status reports.

Ensure compliance with Leak Survey and Repair Programs, including OOOOa/b/c, fixed‑wing flyovers, and AVOs, in alignment with current and upcoming emissions regulations.

Develop and maintain environmental programs, policies, and management systems, ensuring employees are informed and trained on relevant procedures.

Lead engine emissions reduction initiatives, collaborating with field staff, vendors, and consultants to implement effective solutions.

Develop and manage control device/flare compliance programs in accordance with EPA Subpart W and OOOOa/b/c regulations.

Drive environmental initiatives that align with Crescent Energy’s ESG objectives, including participation in the Oil and Gas Methane Partnership (OGMP).

Enhance environmental compliance database quality and streamline business process flows for improved efficiency on internal and external databases.

Build strong relationships with field staff, compressor engine vendors, testing companies, and consultants to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

Work independently and collaboratively within project teams to achieve environmental and operational goals.

Communicate effectively with field personnel, office staff, and regulatory agencies to facilitate compliance and project success.

Required Experience & Education

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Applied Sciences, or a related field; equivalent experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.

5+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on environmental and regulatory compliance, engine and facility management, and environmental permitting.

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record for operating company and personal vehicles as required.

Strong understanding of environmental regulations and principles, including:

Engine rules (JJJJ/ZZZZ)

Emissions inventorying and reporting.

State and federal air regulations, including permitting, NSPS OOOO/OOOOa/OOOOb, and nonattainment areas in Texas and Utah.

Professional experience in regulatory compliance or environmental, health, and safety (EHS) roles within the oil and gas sector.
