Overview The IAFF Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health Treatment and Recovery is a one‑of‑a‑kind addiction treatment facility specializing in PTSD for IAFF members and those struggling with addiction, PTSD, and other related behavioral health challenges. It is a haven where members can talk with others who have faced or overcome similar challenges.
Advanced Recovery Systems is an integrated behavioral healthcare management company dedicated to treating addiction, substance abuse and mental health issues. We prioritize behavioral health and apply an advanced approach to patient care across facilities in various regions of the U.S. Every facility in our network strives to provide the highest quality of care, using evidence‑based therapeutic models that work. Our goal is to help men and women live healthy, happy lives without the burden of substance abuse or mental illness.
Schedule 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday‑Friday with an occasional weekend day rotation every 4‑6 weeks.
Location IAFF Center of Excellence, 13400 Edgemade Rd, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772 Ideal location for those seeking work in Southern Maryland (Charles County, Calvert County, Waldorf, White Plains, La Plata, St. Leonard, or California, MD).
Responsibilities
Provide individual, family, and group therapy.
Facilitate psycho‑education groups for families, spouses, and support people.
Conduct biopsychosocial assessments.
Prepare discharge summaries.
Develop treatment plans.
Maintain accurate documentation.
Implement therapeutic intervention practices.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related human services field.
Credentials
Independently licensed in the state of practice required in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or another behavioral‑health related field.
LCSW‑C (Licensed Certified Social Worker – Clinical)
LCMFT (Licensed Clinical Marriage & Family Therapist)
LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor)
LCADC (Licensed Clinical Alcohol & Drug Counselor)
Licensed PhD/PsyD
CPR and BFA Certification required.
Experience
Minimum two (2) years of work experience in the behavioral health field.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficiency in communication and written skills.
Knowledge of state and federal statutes regarding patient confidentiality laws.
Knowledge of licensing and accreditation standards.
Proficiency with electronic medical records systems, including HeatherAI.
Proficiency in documenting medical standards per ASAM and Locus criteria.
