Position: Mental Health Associate I Location: LOH Engagement: Per Diem Hours: As needed Per Diem Commitment Level: Per Diem Level 1 – 32-72 hrs per 6-week schedule What You Will Do
Facilitates didactic, educational and unit/program community groups within the assigned treatment programs. Encourages and facilitates patients’ participation in therapeutic activities. Supervises patients to ensure their safety and their involvement in treatment. Ensures patient safety by providing one-to-one supervision. Conducts unit rounds and completes precautions records in real time; labels precautions records accurately. Orients new patients to unit, program and milieu by establishing rapport with patients and families and making necessary introductions. Provides appropriate hand-off information when accepting or receiving borders from other units. Participates in treatment planning by working with an interdisciplinary team to identify patients’ problems, needs and strengths; suggests modifications to treatment plans based on observation and provides input into discharge planning. Completes patient, program, and department documentation. Performs various clerical and administrative tasks to support department operations. Monitors and reports patients’ progress and communicates information to the charge person on the assigned shift and to family members. What You Will Need
Education and/or Experience Required
A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a Behavioral Health related field, no previous experience or A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a non-Behavioral Health related field, a minimum of one year of behavioral health experience Maintain information as highly confidential Ability to maintain professional boundaries and willingness to seek supervision Education And/or Experience Preferred
Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology Skills in teaching or assisting with activities of daily living Prior experience with therapeutic limit-setting and milieu management Licensure And/or Certification Required
A valid driver’s license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off-site location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested. CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification within 90 days of hire Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or Red Cross Benefits
