Division/Program:

Full Service Partnership TAY – Santa Clara

Starting Compensation:

$21.46 – $25.75 per hour

Location:

San Jose: North San Jose Center (In‑Person position)

Hours / Shift:

Monday‑Friday, AM Shift

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED, HiSET) required.

Personal experience as a consumer in the child welfare, probation, or mental health systems.

At least 1 year of full‑time experience providing non‑professional, consumer‑directed services in a mental health or related agency.

Peer Support Specialist certification completed within one year of employment.

Valid California driver’s license and a driving record that meets company policy.

First aid certification from a recognized agency (e.g., American Red Cross).

Responsibilities The Peer Support Counselor will use lived experience and systemic knowledge to provide outreach, engagement, advocacy, and direct services to clients across all age ranges. Responsibilities include:

Offering peer support and role‑modeling to clients in mental health, judicial, and social service systems.

Supporting clients in moving toward recovery and building meaningful lives separate from illness.

Conducting sessions in community, clinic, home, and telehealth settings.

Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and utilizing a strength‑based approach.

Serving clients ages 6–15 (child) and 16–25 (TAY) throughout Santa Clara County.

Program Overview We support individuals with mental health, family life, employment, education, housing, personal effectiveness, and community functioning, providing services in a community‑centered, strength‑based framework.
