Radiologic Technologist Weekend Option
The Radiologic Technologist Weekend Option performs medical exams using X-rays or other diagnostic imaging examinations on patients to create images of specific parts of the body. The images are then interpreted by a doctor for diagnosis and monitoring of disease. Working under direct supervision, this position prepares patients for the exams, moves patients to the correct position, operates the equipment, and uses their knowledge and skill to minimize the radiation dose to the patient. This role has a weekend option, in which the staff member is required to commit to WEO requirements and work two shifts within the WEO window for a premium rate.
Responsibilities
Follow instructions from physicians regarding which area of the patient’s body needs imaging.
Talk the patient through the procedure and answer questions to lower their anxiety and increase their understanding of the procedure.
Position the patient correctly and adjust the imaging equipment to the specified position to create quality images of specific parts of the body.
Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure both to themselves and to the patient.
Follow correct techniques and procedures such as patient shielding to ensure adherence to accurate and reliable diagnostic imaging services.
Complete required documentation for each procedure to ensure proper patient records and facilitate seamless communication among healthcare providers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:

Licensure/Certification:
ARRT (R); Radiologic Technologist - DxBLS (CPR) from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
