Overview
Bariatric Ambulatory Dietitian position in Salisbury, MD at TidalHealth Primary & Specialty Care, Family Medicine Clinic-Salisbury. Location: Salisbury, MD; Facility: TidalHealth Primary & Specialty Care; Department: Family Medicine Clinic-Salisbury. Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
The Ambulatory Dietitian ensures quality and therapeutic nutritional services are provided to medical weight loss and bariatric surgery patients. The RD assists in planning, organization and development of the overall operations of the Medical Weight Loss & Bariatric Nutrition department in cooperation with the Bariatric Providers. The RD will have the support of a full-time Medical Assistant designated for the Dietitian. The RD must hold a Registered Dietitian credential and a Licensed Nutritionist/Dietitian in Delaware and Maryland.
The Ambulatory Registered Dietitian will work Monday - Friday, day shift, with no nights, holidays or weekends; a four-day, ten-hour shift option is available; hybrid work arrangement may be available. This position supports the bariatric community to foster positive lifestyle changes.
Responsibilities
Provide nutrition guidance and counseling to metabolic and bariatric surgery patients pre- and post-operatively, including development, implementation and monitoring of dietary recommendations for weight loss surgery
Analyze data, assess nutrition status and formulate nutrition care plans
Co-administer on specific online applications/software used to support Bariatric patients
Assist in center development, patient education, and staff education on diet and nutrition related to metabolic and bariatric surgeries
Maintain Nutrition guide following current guidelines
Act as liaison between the weight loss center, the bariatric coordinator, and surgeons at both centers
Work with the bariatric coordinator to ensure timely submission and accurate nutrition information for pre- and post-surgical patients
Coordinate with Metabolic and Bariatric System (MBS) Coordinator in all aspects of dietary services for the metabolic and bariatric patient
Lead support groups (e.g., System Bariatric Support group / “Boot Camp”) and track attendance for pre- and post-surgical patients
Participate in metabolic and bariatric surgery team rounds/meetings and assigned committees
Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other allied health staff to provide patient care
Participate in quality improvement activities required to meet MBSAQIP Accreditation
Perform other duties as deemed necessary for program growth
Qualifications
One year of experience in clinical nutrition preferred
Degree in Nutrition or related field preferred
Delaware & Maryland Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist is required
Team members working at least 36 hours per pay period (based on 12-hour shift schedules) or at least 37.5 hours for non-12-hour shift schedules; part-time team members working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits
