Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Surgical Services/Assistant Director/Shift Manager/Designee, the Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. The RN is responsible for monitoring the patient’s physiological status in the immediate operative period. Communicates with the surgeon and anesthesiologist about patient conditions and receives direction for patient management. Intercedes to maintain optimum homeostasis. 2-3 years of experience in a Level II Trauma License/Certificates/Credentials Current California RN license Current BLS ACLS within nine months (within one year for new graduates) PALS within one year TCAR required within 12 months of hire/transfer For current employees within the department, TCAR must be obtained by October 1, 2019. Physical Demands Prolonged standing/walking Lift/position up to 50 lbs. Push/pull up to 50 lbs of force Reach, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch Manual dexterity and mobility Ability to move quickly Vision Requirements:
Ability to adjust vision to perform position accountabilities Working Conditions Regularly exposed to risk of contagious and blood-borne diseases Subject to varying and unpredictable situations Exposure to accidents, injuries, illness and emergency/crisis situations Subject to irregular hours Occasional exposure to radiation hazards, radioactive substances and biohazard material Tenet complies with federal, state, and local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce.
