What You’ll Do The Slot Technician maintains, installs, repairs, converts, and configures slot machines on assigned shift according to departmental plans, participating in a team‑oriented environment to provide exceptional guest service to our casino customers.
Responsibilities
Exhibits a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner when dealing with guests and fellow associates, ensuring optimum guest service is maintained.
Performs daily or as scheduled preventative maintenance on gaming devices including validator units, ticket printers, kiosks, player tracking equipment, and card readers as specified by the slot performance supervisor/management.
Consistently follows machine entry procedures and repair procedures to proactively identify or prevent future equipment problems.
Maintains and repairs electronic circuitry of all Slot Operations related equipment.
Safeguards all assigned assets upon install, build, conversion, or reconfiguration.
Uses approved electronic test equipment when repairing or maintaining gaming devices.
Diagnoses faulty equipment and troubleshoots to the subsystem level (hopper, comparator, MPU board, network issues, etc.).
Safely and effectively operates shop equipment including hand tools, welding equipment, soldering equipment, and test equipment, maintaining proper documentation on department repair logs, shift logs, daily shift reports, and J.M.R.’s.
Complies with the gaming MICS/ICS and other regulatory requirements.
Complies with company and departmental standard operating procedures.
Maintains the shelf validator stock, ticket printer stock, and card reader stock in the slot performance shop at the predetermined quantities.
Completes projects and machine moves as assigned.
Interacts with other departments exhibiting a professional courteous approach.
Assists with validator or other hardware/software upgrades as released by vendors.
Other duties as necessary to improve the operational performance of the department.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
High school graduate or equivalent.
Two years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of the IGT Advantage casino management system is highly preferred.
Understanding of network infrastructure (ReadyLinks switches, CAT6/Cat3/Serial wiring differences, and WAP wire requirements).
Ability to read and understand PAR sheets.
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, guests, and the public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts (discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume).
Use common sense to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
Use basic functions of Microsoft programs: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, AutoCAD LT, and other applicable software.
At least 21 years of age.
Preferred
Associate degree from a college, university, or trade school.
One year Slot department experience.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
Must qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
A valid Nevada Gaming License is required and must be obtained before starting the position.
Physical Requirements
Work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Work under time constraints and within deadlines.
Working Conditions
Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment, exposed to noise, dust, and smoke.
Close spaces while working with others.
Pay Range The pay range for this position is $31.74/hour.
