The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. About the Unit
PTCA (Angioplasty Recovery) is a 14-bed advanced cardiovascular interventional unit that provides pre- and post-procedural care for acute cardiology patients, including cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology (ablations), pacemaker insertions, ICD placement, TAVRs, Watchmans, and MitraClips. Jewish Hospital, part of UofL Health, is a tertiary referral center recognized for advanced heart and vascular care and other specialties. The hospital is the site of world-renowned procedures and pioneering transplant and heart failure programs. Education
Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program is required All new-hire Associate Degree RNs (new graduates and experienced) are required to start an approved BSN program within one (1) year of hire and complete an approved BSN program within three (3) years of hire (required) Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program (preferred) Experience
All new RN graduates will participate in the Nurse Residency program and must successfully complete all activities (required) Two years of hospital patient care experience (preferred) Licensure
Current KY RN licensure or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky (required) Certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (may be required for specific clinical areas) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (may be required for specific clinical areas) Note
Additional, specialized certifications may be required or preferred based on unit.
