The primary purpose of the Plant Science Research Center (PSRC) is to provide greenhouse space and supporting facilities and services to research scientists of the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station (AAES). The PSRC is dedicated to assisting scientists to meet the challenges that face Alabama agriculture presently and in the future. Maintains greenhouse and grounds environment to include sanitization practices, landscape management, and pest control. Assists in soil preparation, planting, watering, fertilizing, and harvesting crops used for research. Operates and maintains research and farm equipment such as tractors, lawn care equipment, and trucks. Performs minor repairs to buildings, sheds and barns. Handles and applies chemical sanitizers and sometimes pesticides. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Why Work at Auburn?

Level I: High school diploma or equivalent; no experience required. Level II: High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience relevant to the position. Level III: High school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience relevant to the position. Substitutions allowed for experience: When a candidate has the required education but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience. Desired Qualifications
Experience caring for container-grown plants. Experience operating forklift, tractors, and other farm equipment. Experience building and operating irrigation systems. Alabama pesticide applicator’s license. Posting Detail Information
